In a significant development for the GCC payments landscape, Telr has teamed up with CreditPool to launch Telr Multi-Card Payments. This innovative feature enables customers to divide a single purchase into multiple card payments, addressing a common pain point where a single card has insufficient funds. By doing so, merchants can reduce payment declines and increase average order values.

The Central Bank of the UAE (CBUAE) has licensed Telr to operate under a Retail Payment Services license, which was secured in March 2025. According to Khalil Alami, Founder and CEO of Telr, the company is addressing the primary reason for payment declines, which is insufficient funds, and turning declines into approvals.

How it Works

The technology behind Telr Multi-Card Payments is provided by CreditPool, a payments technology company based in Dubai. This technology allows customers to allocate different amounts to multiple cards during the checkout process, providing more flexibility and freedom to complete purchases. As Rafik Ibrahim, Co-Founder and CEO of CreditPool, noted, the service aims to improve the customer experience while helping merchants capture more revenue.

Benefits for Merchants and Customers

The introduction of Telr Multi-Card Payments is expected to have a positive impact on both merchants and customers. Merchants can benefit from reduced cart abandonment rates and increased average order values, while customers can enjoy more flexibility when making purchases. Additionally, customers can combine rewards from different cards, making the payment process more rewarding.

Conclusion

The partnership between Telr and CreditPool marks a significant milestone in the GCC payments landscape. With the introduction of Telr Multi-Card Payments, merchants and customers can enjoy a more seamless and flexible payment experience. As the payments industry continues to evolve, it will be interesting to see how this new feature impacts the market.
