The Dubai AI Campus has set ambitious targets for 2030, aiming to attract over 1,000 AI companies and create more than 5,000 skilled jobs. This goal was approved by Dubai Crown Prince Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed, marking a significant milestone for the campus. As part of the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC), the campus has already made notable progress since its launch in May 2024.
To date, the campus has drawn in more than 500 companies, which have collectively raised over AED 1 billion ($270M) in funding from private equity and venture capital funds. This influx of investment has helped generate more than 2,000 specialised technology jobs, demonstrating the campus's potential for growth and development. The campus's success has also led to the surpassing of its initial targets, which were originally set to be achieved by 2028.
New Goals and Developments
The announcement of the new targets coincided with the opening of the third Dubai AI Festival at the Dubai World Trade Centre. The festival, which runs until 27 October, is expected to draw a large crowd, with a significant number of attendees coming from around the world. The DIFC is also investing in the development of a 100,000-square-foot Dubai AI Campus building, which will feature state-of-the-art infrastructure, including GPU-ready infrastructure and secure AI development zones.
The new building will provide companies with access to digital twin environments and modular lab-ready floors designed for testing and validation of AI tools. Additionally, an AI Experience Centre will be established, showcasing applications developed by various entities, including AI Labs and campus companies. This centre will serve as a hub for innovation and collaboration, driving the growth of the AI ecosystem in the region.
