The UAE-based VC secondaries manager will connect Hub71 startups with global investors, offer mentoring and may help select startups for its programmes.
Key Capital has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to become a Capital Partner of Hub71, Abu Dhabi’s technology hub, expanding opportunities for startups to access international investors and markets.
The partnership builds on two years of collaboration that has already connected 14 Hub71 startups with investors in London. Key Capital, a UAE-based asset manager specialising in venture capital (VC) secondaries, will connect startups with global investors and provide mentoring to founders, including those planning international expansion.
Under the agreement, Key Capital may also contribute to Hub71’s startup selection process and participate in its programmes and events.
Key Trek London Connects Startups with Investors
The partnership builds on Key Trek London, an annual roadshow established by Key Capital in 2023 to bring technology companies from the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) to London to meet investors.
Hub71 joined the roadshow in 2025. Since then, its startups have held more than 120 one-on-one meetings with investors from the UK and Europe.
Nine Hub71 startups participated in this year’s edition: Thndr, Abhi, NymCard, NodeShift, BioSapien, eVoost AI, FlapKap, Orbii and Synapse Analytics.
Both organisations said founders have maintained contact with investors following these meetings, while previous editions have also resulted in deals. For example, Hub71 startup RemotePass secured funding from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) after being introduced through Key Trek in 2024.
Supporting Startup Growth and Fundraising
“Meaningful investor relationships are central to helping ambitious startups access the capital they need to grow,”
said Ahmad Ali Alwan, CEO at Hub71.
“Our annual roadshow Key Trek creates opportunities for founders to build the strategic relationships they need to scale,”
said Basil Moftah, Managing Partner at Key Capital.
Hub71 expects the partnership to provide founders across the region with more consistent access to global capital and international markets.
