First Abu Dhabi Bank (FAB) has launched The Exchange, a series on responsible artificial intelligence (AI) that brings together AI practitioners to discuss how they use, govern and scale the technology.
The first session, hosted by the FAB AI Innovation Hub, was held as an invitation-only event at the bank’s Abu Dhabi headquarters. It brought together 30 participants from industry, academia and regulation, including senior AI practitioners, technology and data leaders, researchers, business heads and governance experts.
The session focused on “AI Decision Making and Governance”, exploring how organisations can integrate AI into decision-making processes while balancing AI capabilities with human judgement. Discussions highlighted the importance of clear accountability and sound governance in ensuring responsible AI use and delivering measurable business value.
Participants also examined how organisations can deploy AI across their operations, identify areas where human judgement remains essential, and move beyond pilot projects to demonstrate measurable results. Trust and regulatory readiness were further discussed as key factors in enabling adoption at scale.
Perspectives from FAB, NYU Abu Dhabi and the ADGM Registration Authority connected these issues across business, research and regulation.
FAB said AI is a core part of its strategy and views responsible AI as a way to scale the technology. The bank assesses AI’s value based on the quality of the decisions and outcomes it delivers.
Through The Exchange, FAB aims to build a community of AI practitioners, strengthen collaboration between the private sector, academia and regulators, and support the broader AI ambitions of Abu Dhabi and the UAE.
