Cashless Payments Live
On July 13, 2026, Salik Company and Shamal Holding signed a Memorandum of Understanding to implement a cashless parking system at Dubai Harbour. This initiative allows visitors to pay parking fees directly through their Salik accounts at the new multi-storey facility, which accommodates 845 vehicles.
Streamlining Operations
The introduction of cashless payments is a significant step towards modernizing urban infrastructure in Dubai. By integrating Salik accounts, the system aims to streamline parking transactions, reduce congestion, and enhance the overall user experience. This move aligns with Dubai's broader strategy to embrace digital solutions and improve urban mobility.
Regional Trends
This development reflects a growing trend in Dubai towards enhancing urban mobility and reducing traffic congestion. Recent initiatives, such as the approval of the world's first vertiport for air taxis and the expansion of electric vehicle charging networks, underscore the emirate's commitment to sustainable transportation solutions. The success of this cashless parking initiative may pave the way for similar implementations across the city.
