SITR Compliance Technology W.L.L., a Bahraini regulatory technology startup, has launched a real-time Shariah compliance monitoring platform in Bahrain. The platform is designed to monitor transactions against Shari’a Supervisory Board rulings and identify issues such as execution errors, documentation gaps, and changes to core banking parameters.
The platform integrates with core banking systems via read-only access, allowing it to review executed transactions continuously without requiring institutions to change their existing systems. It can also process contracts and supporting documents, including scanned PDFs.
What the platform offers
The platform is designed to support internal Shari’a audit teams and complement independent external audits. It is aligned with the Central Bank of Bahrain’s Shari’a Governance requirements and AAOIFI standards. SITR developed the product with input from Shari’a audit and compliance teams at Islamic financial institutions in Bahrain.
Market scope
