SpaceX just completed the biggest IPO in history, and GCC investors are right in the middle of it.

In this episode of FinTech TV, Mehdi Fichtali, Founder & CEO of FinaMaze (MENA’s first AI-powered digital wealth manager) and a member of the MENA Fintech Association, breaks down what’s really driving the SpaceX IPO frenzy, and what it reveals about how investors in the region are thinking right now.

Mehdi explains why this is less a fundamentals story and more a narrative one: a 5% float by design, 30% reserved for retail, and the pull of Elon Musk’s personal brand creating a scarcity-driven rush. With revenues just under $20 billion against a valuation 100 times that figure, investors aren’t buying SpaceX for what it is today. They’re buying the optionality of Starlink, orbital data centres, and future missions to the Moon and Mars.

He also zooms out to the bigger picture: GCC sovereign wealth funds like PIF and Mubadala aren’t passive investors. They’re deploying capital into SpaceX, OpenAI, and Anthropic not just to diversify away from oil, but to trade capital for localisation, bringing the infrastructure of tomorrow into the region itself.
