MENA Fintech Association Announces Subcommittee Leads for Policy and Regulation Council

Four new subcommittees to drive focused industry engagement on digital assets, financial crime, Stablecoins, and payments policy.

The MENA Fintech Association (MFTA) today announced the leadership of four new subcommittees under its Policy and Regulation Council, marking a significant step in the Council’s efforts to deepen engagement across key regulatory and policy areas shaping the region’s fintech landscape.

The subcommittees, and their respective leads, are as follows:

  • Digital Assets: Led by Rahul Kumar, focusing on tokenization and the broader policy impact of digital assets
  • Financial Crime and AML/CFT: Led by Meera Judge, drawing on her extensive past and current experience in the space
  • Stablecoins Policy and Regulation: Led by Abdallah Mukalled
  • Payments, Policy & Regulations: Led by Bessima Bahri

Each subcommittee will operate under a shared charter outlining initial direction and working methods, with support from the Council’s co-chairs. Members are welcome to participate in more than one subcommittee based on their interests and expertise.

The subcommittees will play a central role in shaping MFTA’s upcoming 2026 landmark report, a flagship publication combining regulatory-landscape analysis with direct industry perspective, targeted for release ahead of Abu Dhabi Finance Week.

Members who have not yet registered interest in joining a subcommittee are encouraged to contact the MFTA research team.
